The Little Optimist On Cape Talk Radio

Last week Wednesday Greg Bertish and The Little Optimist were invited to the Cape Talk Studios to chat about their latest adventure and completing all 200km of the challenge!

Take a listen below :

“Greg Bertish came up with the idea after a brush with death a few years ago – you may recall that a severe infection led to him spending nearly 200 days in hospital and having major heart surgery. He was left acutely aware of how tough it must be for children in particular to stay hopeful and keep fighting when facing their own scary battle with illness and injury.

Greg told us in early March how he planned to raise money for the Red Cross Children’s Hospital Trust.

Greg decided to sail a tiny boat known as an Optimist or Oppie, from Cape Hangklip all the way across False Bay, around Cape Point and up the West Coast to Langebaan – that’s a journey of 200km, representing one kilometer per day he spent in hospital.”
